"Advanced Brand Management"
by Paul Temporal
A solid look at brand management with particularly good sections on positioning as well as brand stretch, brand revitalization and brand deletion. Good use of case studies - a heavy Asian bias given the author's experience domiciled in Singapore |

"The Fall of Advertising & The Rise of PR"
by Al Ries and Laura Ries |
Long on conventional wisdom and short on original insight, this father-daughter team give an argument for the use of public relations in any marketing plan. While we can't argue with them on the concept, the book is marred by pat predictions and erroneous conclusions. Given that their consulting recently advised Guatemala to change its name to Guatemaya to improve tourism, this maybe an indication that most of the good ideas in prior books came from Jack Trout. |
"Truth, Lies and Advertising: The Art of Account Planning"
by Jon Steel |
Excellent perspective on planning and developing great advertising. Plenty of great case studies included. While the book doesn't give you a blue print, it does give you great anecdotal stories from the world of advertising. |

"The End of Marketing As We Know It"

Finally an explanation for New Coke. Not a good one, mind you, but one nonetheless. |
